Went up to Cypress this afternoon for my first day on the fat skis for this year. I am usually at the hill first thing in the morning, but decided to wait for the snow to pile up during the day. Had a great session with 27 cm of fresh snow, and it was snowing hard the whole time I was there. Visibility still good. Had some great powder turns on some runs that may not have been completely, 100%, officially opened.
When I drove up around 1 pm it was snowing all the way down the Cypress road to the last hairpin turn. When I left after 3:30 pm, the snow line had moved up a fair amount, but still below the Nordic area. The forecast is for the snow line to move higher during the night but hopefully they are wrong!
