Snow season starting

When it's absolutely too cold

Day 36 at Cypress - My favorite session this season!!! 5cm to 15cm of fresh untracked snow from 8:45-10:30am. Fun snowboarding with Tony all morning. Other happy riders include Jerry, Clay, AJ, Rob W, Doug ... Like Mark/Roxstock said, Humpty Dumpty was AWESOME - butter smooth for 3 runs before it got tracked out.

After lunch, AJ and I darted off to 3rd Ave for a double sesh.

Check out this awesome photo Jerry took of Clay, Tony, Rob, me and himself.

Day 37 at Cypress - Starting skiing with Jerry, Clay, Doug and Rob on Lions chair. Jerry was the only one on a snowboard - excellent choice. Smooth soft groomers perfect for carving but 15 cm of powder off Hutch was better suited for a snowboard or fat skis.

After Jerry and Clay poached Raven and reported untouched deep snow, I switched to my snowboard and poached it twice to end the day.

Cypress was good today. They had a Daily Deal on for a family of up to 6 people for $69 + tax. It snowed most of the day and although the visibility wasn't great at times, the snow was nice. No ice anywhere!
Skied in the morning and switched to my snowboard in the afternoon. First time on a board in about 10 years and it was a lot of fun.

Day 38 at Cypress - Started the morning (9am) snowboarding with low expectations. Got 2nd chair on Lions and scored super smooth and soft groomers from Humpty Dumpty down through Horizon - perfect grippy carving conditions. After 5 runs went back to the car to switch to skis only to discover Raven was open.

TONS of deep fresh snow accumulated over the weekend!!!

Spent the rest of the morning snowboarding / poaching with Jerry on Coyote 7, Black on Black, Meteor and the Olympic run. Bill and Doug on powder skis today. Done by 12:30pm - totally exhausted. Best day of the season!!!

Nice score this morning guys. I went up after work, the snow was ok, not much soft stuff left though. Really quiet and nice now that it's light until 7:00, more terrain available for us post work riders.

Day 39 at Cypress - Skiing all morning with Rob, Clay, Doug and Alan. Exceptional soft groomers almost everywhere under bird blue sky perfect for high speed carving.

Is there much snow at Grouse still? Is it worth trying this Easter weekend one last time? I was last up at Grouse about a month ago and it was already not great. The cut was half closed and there was lots of dirt showing.

Dunno about Grouse but still enough snow on Cypress this morning except for the Raven which is brown.
