The odds of the wind in the Straight reaching higher than the EC forecast is very rare.

South Straight:

becoming southerly 5 to 10 early this evening then increasing to southeast 10 to 15 near midnight. Wind diminishing to light late overnight then becoming northwest 5 to 15 late Wednesday morning

North Straight:

Wind light increasing to northwest 10 to 20 knots late this evening then diminishing to light late Wednesday morning

If what you are going off of is the WeatherFlow "Plus" forecast I wouldn't be too hopeful, it always forecasts high.

i'm using ikitesurf. the app has wednesday morning's readings quite high. thanks, that's helpful.

0.4-0.5m tomorrow. Even then, only at 830am tide is 8ft, for ankle high waves, flat. unless stairs is your exercise.

hb was 0.6 at 5am this morning. so close to going out but tide was 13ft and my window before work was small. needs to be above 0.6 at 4am for me. ill check tmrrw. the high tide at early morn is a killer.

Has anyone tried using a hydrofoil for SUP?

Is SUP foiling possible locally?

I've seen a few youtube videos of foiling on small onshore waves and also riding the currents between the Hawaii Islands.

Wreck has a decent setup for foil surfing, There are a few rocks that generate a small white peak that would be catchable way out on the spit. Once up you could foil for close to 100m tide dependent.

I think wreck could be great fun on a foil sup under the right conditions. when the waves are tiny, its the only craft that could scrape something ride-able, and when the swell is a meter, there are lots of lines breaking in shallow water 500m offshore beyond what is otherwise worth paddling, reforming several times to the beach. I think your best bet is straight out from the beach riding unbroken rollers away from the rocks, as that trajectory in the picture has the odd shallow rock to the surfers right that would not be fun to hit.
