R: By looking at Johnstone strait, around 20+ knots in strait. This is a quick wind switch SE to NW and it will spike, I've seen it happen and it's usually windy at Ambleside when it happens. I'll be there, it will be short 6:30-7:30pm; bound to be something.
I don't want to take responsibility for it, but those are sweet conditions for wave sailing at Ambleside, tide is just perfect at 6-7pm for sandy side surf.
Look at Jericho ... forecast 23knot gust at 6pm ... HB buoy is 20 km away, by the time it hits Ambleside it will be more than 0.8m as it's still building up.
Bring your windsurf gear (5.5m,90-100litres), as I said it will be short (maybe 2 hours, until no more light) ... switch to SUP if wind dies (but I doubt it will).
