When there's absolutely no wind

5-630pm. PR.

Vero, Page 54,55,56 of this thread you ll find the place at PR.

High tide at that time, 15ft , but C36 photos show a break on the right at that tide.

East wind but forecast shows turning SE by 3pm.

This link is real-time at sandy point. If it does not turn SE before 430pm then no surf.

Turned SE too late to drive to PR. Very windy as Chris mentioned.
Saturna at 29 at 5pm, small to medium surf. But by 7pm, dark, medium+ surf.

Thanks for the link. I got to PR around 3pm. By the time I rigged my 3.7/68L, Ryan was already coming back to downrig his 4.5.

I went out for one reach, came back to the beach to adjust my boom, and then decided it was too much for my taste to go out again. After a short walk of shame, I went out on my surfboard instead. There was swell around 5:45 but it was breaking super close to shore. Logs were everywhere with the high tide and it felt pretty sketchy. I stayed in the water for a bit but didn't really catch anything.

I went to LHP to get changed and there were 4-5 surfers there. It was getting dark and I was already out of my wetsuit when I noticed. It was small cross shore surf, and I saw a few of them catch some rides.

Heading tomorrow morning to PR . From 10 am as tide is under 12 ft and bound to have a proper break if Saturna over 25 knots SE. Today over 14 ft tide, with 5 pm switch SE , too much trouble for 1 hour and insane wind at beach, and can't use jetty as break was on right side.

8-930am small sets some ride with 13 ft tide. Wind shutdown by 10 am, came back at 1030am, then shutdown again, small surf with no energy, weak sets after 10 am, waste of time.
25 knots Saturna is borderline, it shows.

So George, you did not miss much the last 4 days . Lots of hoopla for a disappointing SE surf-wise... just crap. Tofino soon.
Sorry Vero this SE was not good for surf, next time.

Next SE forecast is Wed late afternoon. Tide looks good 10-12 ft .

Keeping an eye on it.

I prefer ikitesurf. So if you want to surf, PR 7:15am-8:30am Thursday (tide incoming10-13ft), that area prefers incoming tide.

George, if all is good hoping for a good session like it used to be at pr.
