Wb not a go. strait winds are weak not past 20 knots. Ulu try ambleside at 9 am. Check both cameras and if you see surf, go. By experience does not look like it's worth it.
Next time. Maybe it will come back later in the day. Don't waste going. Next time.

Go parking lot. Look down from there.Its now 0.4 HB. It will be kind of windy and surf will not have proper form. Major downgrade in 24 hours, I am with richi in the skunkage, climate change to me. There is very small surf on both north shore cameras.there may be some surfable waves at wb, take photos, but 0.4 from weak strait winds make it not worth the gas. (1.1 yesterday 2am, that'd ve been fun then)

Thanks Ulu. Surprised that 0.4 produced something at wb. , true 0.2 extra would do it. HB at 0.5. Going back up to 0.6. To 0.7. If it reaches .7 I'll go wb.

Ambleside can' t say, looks weak. Nothing in cameras.

Even at 0.6hb the write off to me is the strait not lining up, all based on local wind, that may shut off anytime.

But definitely I can't predict 24 hours in advance anymore with such crappy forecast changing every hour; why bother creating vector mathematical models, just go outside, wet your finger and point it to the sky, that should be enough (+ it's environmentally friendly).

Ulu,
with strong local wind and weak strait winds (0.5hb). This is what you get at 28th street, north shore. Pretty sure capilano river (East of pebble aside) is good for SUP surf right now.

Stronger strait winds would've made it a good surf day.

It may come back this afternoon after 5pm, or not...
Next NW,Friday 5pm (tide too high at 14ft). But it may disappear:

Went to Ambkesjde this morning by 9am, stayed there until 10ish with a coffee, check the river, nothing but a foot high ripple.
... As per the forecast, I have been in Aviation for over 20 years and yup, nobody can predict a 24hrs period properly, whoever does would be the richest person on the planet.
So hard to predict low and high pressure systems movements. local knowledge is still paramount.
And yup again, sticking you head out is still the best thing to do, great thks to your local knowledge though, priceless.
I might go back this evening again check AC and maybe WB if HB looks good.
