you got there probably at 2ft tide (very low), and 0.9mHB (at 10,11am) on Friday ... WB sand banks close to shore are many and not a clean break, but you manage to go way out there, where it's first breaking.
We had a few sessions last week but nothing spectacular (0.7-0.9mHB), enough for some exercise and to keep in shape for a better session.
We have not had a 1 - 1.6mHB session yet, also it's very hard to make it match with the right tide ... but if I had the day off, you can always make it work at low tide...

if I had a whole week off I could probably have had 8+ hours of solid surf and have fun in the process (iona trail at low tide and bike), places I want to try, etc.
Best surf is probably Darrells break ... unreachable except maybe with a dinghy ...
