Gabriel... a 10ft. wedge? Typo, or am I reading it wrong? Good to hear you got out again. Keep up the good work. Fix those fins for the next big day!!!

right of spit had a North and NW swell, crisscrossing each other, making a wedge.
At 10ft tide it went from a depth of 3+meters (I tried touching the bottom) to 1 meter depth (sandy bottom) in less than 10 meters. So it was a quick wave.

Most wedges were 8ft a few 10ft at crest.
My 6'8'' was bulky once on the wave as it was a fast wave with some barrell into it, I needed my 6ft board for so small real estate. It was like trying to catch a quick breaking wave with a longboard. next time.

I've had 5ft wedges with 0.6-0.7mHB. Once with Keelan, he had fun there.

I got a few of those with some adjustments. That's the place you'll get your local barrell George, in time.

Nw upgraded in the strait. Easiest session for SUP or surfing at WB, early morning & a holiday. No hassle.

Great for kids, 0.8m HB nedded before driving.
Enjoy!!!

It may get to 1m by 9 am ;)

Tide 10 to 4 , best break somewhere there.

Roy (6 am keener), Mr and Mrs Adam, I were out this morning (7 am). Wind, roll, warm water and sun(tanners). Ribs protested after the first three rides. Took a break to let them breathe and then they seemed to be more relaxed for the second, longer set. A surfer walked down and then up with me at about 10am (not enough for him) and another SUP walked down at 10 am. Wind backed and wind swell cleaned up a little as session wore on. Nice to be out and be able to paddle.

tough to know for sure how local surf will turn out.

I would say that 6ft tide with 0.9mHB was giving OK surf at the last buoy (left of spit), not in pictures.

Looks are deceiving at that beach, unless you go to the spit (next to rocks) and watch surf for 10 minutes it's easy to dismiss it as a waste of time.

We are also at the mercy of the strait, meaning that it could easily jump to 1.1m for no reason, giving chest-high surf for 1 hour (fun with a shortboard).

I had local storms with 0.7m-8ft tide giving clean powerful surf.

Sadly Ambleside sessions are non-existent these days, it was good while it lasted 5 years ago... best wave to have fun and speed, in the history books now, rip :?

Ballenas, 20-25 knots.
HB down but sandheads, 17 knots

Around 1mHB.

WB2, near rocks only place with maybe a break at 13 ft tide.
8-)
