Can we just get summer over with now thank you :!:

No day of the month on the video, but iWindsurf archived show November 15 as being the only really windy day. We sailed Boundary Bay that day, but it was SE over there and it looks SW in that video (complete with orange glow of clearing sky on the horizon). When was the last time you saw a wind graph like the one below for CNL?

Those pictures look great! Looks like you guys had an epic day and an epic year in 2006.
Hopefully this fall delivers some good days at White Rock and Centennial.

Brutal graph C36 at first glance  20+ knot difference between the lulls and gusts with the wind strength all over the map. I would take a pass on the rig fest if I woke up and checked the graph only. I'm pretty sure it was rock solid on the water and much windier compared to the graph though. That's where your local knowledge comes in. Fall is right around the corner and you guys will be free from Squamish for another 6 months very soon :D

Last year was pretty epic late summer/fall. Remember Aug31st... 52kts as measured on WR beach. I was out on my 7M too scared to come near shore.

:D

Gabe, three or four years ago on a big fall SE a boat washed up from the states near your spot, after kiting I walked down to check it out. Was surprised how big the surf still was, given it had already clocked SW and dropped off (note the blue sky). I did not realize it was sandy just a bit further down.

Looking decent for a NW push Sat morning. We will see if the south winds block it again, but now I know where to go if that happens! ;) also, we may get a good little SE on Monday!

I know it's low low tide, but given the missed forecasts of the past, I'll be at WB at 6am, if there is a strong local wind and physically see rollers moving into the inlet then I'll move to sandy aside. SE's may be Sunday morning or around noon.

You're welcome.

Can you please confirm the following points were made for Olympic Trail (and not 101 Steps). Many thanks.

gabrielb wrote:It was going so well with sisters/ballenas over 15 knots NW

They switched SSW at 5pm and the high tide 15 ft at 8pm does not help.

There was a lot of SSE by 11 am and 4-5 rollers all the way from WR/CB to the middle of boundary bay. It did not wrap to 1001 steps, so I started walking towards WR. All pebble/rocks except a section just after 101 steps (130&13) , sandy bottom with a ride, about 70 meters to the left of 101 trail to beach.

Next time , go to 101 lookout, just 10 meters on left there is a gap, this trail leads to beach as it's all cliffs. Seems to work 4-9ft when I was there, there is ride as it's flat, 4ft sets, fun place, warm water, overcast. Definitely a good break on SSE, S . 1001 had no break.

 Crazy pictures of the marooned sailboat Tweegster - thanks for sharing. Reminds me of the 'ghost ship' that was marooned on the bank at Locust for a while.

Any day the graph looks like that I find it hard to spend inside. :D ;)
The strange part is Squamish has came into play pretty early in 2015 (February) - only a four month break that WINDter. :?

C36,
Sorry for confusion. Olympic trail is the only way to get to it. Trail down OK with SUP.
I am thinking it's a break from 4ft to 9ft tide (like sandy Aside). With KD will figure that break out after a few trips and post.

PR, is Saturna 25+ knots and Sandy Point 17knots+ all SE, 4ft-13ft tide.

We'll come up with something similar ... so not to waste people's time.

Thanks for confirming GB. I/we appreciate you guys doing all the leg work (and paddling) and then sharing your 'research' with us. :D

it looks downgraded. I'll check the 530am HB reading with waxed board in car and wetsuit on. If it's not 0.8m at 5am I'll go back to sleep.
6ft tide, 2nd buoy, maybe half an hour of good surf 6-630am.

wind peak at 5am:

Forecasts look good, probably going to check out the north shore at 630, unless its small then WB.
