And if you're in Westport, there are other spots in case the Jetty is too messy/washed out. The Cove is at the large Coast Guard tower, on the jetty access road to the right as you head towards the park. It works in huge swells and can be a barrel fest. The Groynes is at the entrance of Grays Harbour, across the street from the Islander Hotel and over the bric a brac. Lefts with a strong rip on medium to large swells. And "Cannons" the pick of the bunch, is a hollow right on a shallow sandbar in the middle of the entrance to Grays Harbour, a 30-45 minute paddle from Groynes (or boat trip if you can find/pay a friend in the harbour to give you a lift). Don't go to Cannons without a boat if it's big because the currents are brutal, and don't paddle out there alone and if not in great paddling shape!
