Adrien, they are trying to cater to the West end market (mostly women). They are kids from all over. I talked to a shaper from Uruguay that goes to Costa Rica quite often because Tofino it's too $$.

Stop by their shop, second floor, talk to them ... see what they can do for you, fin-wise, box, an alternative if needed.

you'll see (+30% cheaper locally if you want to save a few $). Told Nate to post for people to be aware of their shop as it took me a few searches to find a shaper.

Clone at switchblade would have been $1150+tax (glassed fins,1 color), Chris is also a great guy at switchblade. At this shop it was under $700 total, solid light board, they took 2 lbs off from my old board... 4.5lbs total with that much volume. Now I can get into 2ft waves; in 6ft waves I would be standing way before it even breaks, on closeouts I would be out of the wave as it has speed on big swell ... all in a 6'8''

My 2c, on a tangent:

Modern boards are getting wider in the back to gain stability quicker at popup and get into the surfing faster, a gimmick that has attracted more people into the sport, good for companies.
I can also buy a tennis racket at Canadian Tire and play tennis right away ... having played for UBC/Jericho in my younger years I can tell you will never have the high of playing good tennis with a CT racket. Also a good tennis racket used by a beginner means nothing if technique is not there. As technique gets better so it's the equipment used.

Edit: Adrien, you got me rumbling and you know the guy! Now I get the gucci comment.

Hey Nate, thanks for posting.

Look forward to your expert input and advice, and just general surfing stoke!

I'll pop by sometime.

Also agree with Gabriel, Chris and Hamish at Switchblade are awesome. Great to have shops like these around.

Cheers, George

Hey Gabriel, Nate and I go back to UBC days! I converted my JP to a thruster in their shop last year.

I highly endorse both Nate and Mitch! Awesome lads and a great operation they're running.
