When there's absolutely no wind

by gabrielb » Sun Feb 28, 2016 9:07 am

Sandy shores just changed 16-24 SE, 45km SE from PR. It will get there in 1/2 hour.

Hope forecast is wrong and spikes for an hour.

Keeldude you posted the same ... Funny.

Sunny went back to under 15.

Dave, not looking good to confirm anything at this point for surf.

Is it still a safe bet to head to PR?

There will definitely be a good squall coming through for PR this morning, but the timing is always a crap shoot. I'm on standby, waiting to see to sandy pt shores and cherry point turn up the heat a little. Can't guarantee more than 1hr of waves

8AM Saturna 25-30kn, all the stations south of there are pointed SE 20+kn, locust trying to turn on too

Well that was a bit dodgy at times, did not suck, and the polers got some nice faces to rip, saw some nice dtl work by Dave and Darrell, et. al. We seals got a few waves too, Dave, Gabriel, and ?Brad or Keeldude?. Short but very sweet.
Good work everyone!

35 litre board in the cloning shop. 25 litre made miss too many sweet waves, i spent energy I did not have today. I ll get my wave machine soon. Better than last time. Glad we made it on time, driving back home in under 30 min, all good.

Pretty fun session down in PR this morning, some heavy waves came through considering there is about 40km of fetch. Missed my train that seemed about head high.. next time. I checked 1001 steps at 2pm but more was to be desired. If I had a sup board I would have been laughing all the way down the 300 stairs to the beach. I have a feeling it was probably working around 11am with the strong wind and higher tide. but i doubt it was better than PR's beach break. only snapped two pics:

Things flattened out at the bluff (1001/101) around noon or so today. I'd still love to check out PR... next time!
