I arrived a bit late around 1:30. Went on my 9m then the wind died and ended up downwind. Got out my dads 12m and was lit for another hour. I was all alone on the water for half an hour (An advantage of being 115 pounds)

Seven of us got out in WR, slight NW making it in, but it was coupled with a light thermal. In all, 2 hours on my 13.5, most everyone else was on 17's & Doors. I was able to stay up wind most of the time. Phewf, lightwind is tiring! Landed an unhooked backroll

Beers on the deck and a beautiful sunset. Happy Sunday!

Windsurfing 12to2pm,. 130 litres 7 meter sail just enough for planing. It was fun 16 - 18 knots. Richi joined at 2pm ?. Talked to francis. wreck beach surfing was small after (but maybe fun if any long boarders) 4pm-530pm. Kiters should try wreck beach, more ramps than Spanish banks.

I Think you got the good wind Gabriel, I didn't think i could get going but managed to get some pretty good runs on a 5.7 and 142l. The tide was coming in hard so pretty well spent an hour just trying to pinch back to the beach. The wind pretty well died off but got to sup in some pretty nice small waves coming in by Jericho. I didn't post an osr as I thought it was tanking, SW can be very deceiving at Jericho. fun end to the weekend :)

Richi, if you have a SUP with you I'll post next time Wreck beach has some small surf. Past wreck beach, 200 meters East there is a parking lot, park there and take a look at Wreck beach before going down those stairs (it has a clear view of the beach). Halibut bank was 0.4-0.5m wave height, which it's not much. Because wreck beach does not get affected by outgoing/incoming tide, 0.5 will deliver good long rides for SUP surfing, small but fun. Yesterday was an excellent day for SUP, long runs, not much wind, good sunset, with a good wetsuit it would compare to a semi-flat hawaii. As always it lasts 2-3 hours. When the wind dies, wave energy is still there, there is 50 km of wind energy from the island, that's when you need to drop your sail and drive to Ambleside if strait winds are still strong + incoming tide; or wreck beach if whole area has no wind. SUP/longboard always fun in small surf.
This Thursday morning forecast (8am to 11am), wreck beach may have some small surf if halibut bank is more than 0.5m.

Thanks Gabriel, I know the parking lot. I will have to go back down to wreck to scope out the rocks at low tide, its been a while. Hopefully see you next time.

my 2 cents...
It seems NW forecast in strait moving to Friday morning and slowly moving to noon. It means thermal winds at Jericho 12 to 2, plus tide will be 6ft and going up ... all this will push surf to sandy Ambleside.

Sandy ambleside has the most fun surf as ramps are slow moving and steep.

So if you see surf at :

http://www.hollyburnsailingclub.ca/webcam.aspx

and Jericho winds at 12-16 knots, you'll have to choose between windsurfing or surfing ... i usually go for surfing as it's very rare.

But you can always do both windsurfing and then head down to Wreck Beach if there is any surf left. With your SUP you'll have fun.
