Friday wind

I’ve seen people kite from Erwin but tide is pretty high right now. Wind or wingfoil. I’ll prob just go to Jericho though. Looks like it’s turning west / northwest now

Wind is starting to pick up at Ambleside but still no saying if it will be rideable. I’ve never ridden at Erwin or Point Atkinson so any further information would be appreciated. Cheers.

I usually go to Erwin Dr on a SE, which is great (maybe tmrw for example). I’ve also had decent sessions on a SW but W / NW the wind is pretty far offshore.

Never launched at Atkinson itself, but should be possible if willing to walk. Strong currents and rocky, definitely take care. I’d like to try it for a downwinder to Ambleside sometime if anyone is game.

There seems to be a lot of conflicting information about the wind at Point Atkinson. Surface weather observation says it’s good 19-21 ish but everywhere else says it’s crap. Web cams all out of commission which doesn’t help.

Ambleside was a ripper. Only me and 1 other kiter out. Crazy. Matt showed up but after rigging up realized that he left his harness at Jericho if anyone found it. I was over powered on my 9 and tt.

Double session - After snowboarding at Cypress (and a civilized lunch at home), I scored a W 18-25 afternoon session at Spanish Banks with Angus. Surprisingly no chop for high tide ... instead clean waist high waves between SB and Dog Beach - perfect for my 8m+surfboard.

Great way to start the holidays. Merry Xmas !!!
