A reminder how easy it is to get lost out there. Know your limits and surrounding.

Three neighboring Coast Guard stations deployed search crews to find the missing person: Station Atlantic City took off in a 47-foot lifeboat, Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and Station Cape May embarked in a 45-foot response boat.
Search parties found a black and white "Ocean Rodeo Cypher 10" kite in the water but did not locate the board or missing surfer, the Ocean City Police Department said.

According to Ocean City Police, the surfer had run into difficulty Thursday afternoon and ended up cutting his kite away, and paddling to safety.
Police say he was unaware that the Coast Guard had launched an investigation into his accident until late Thursday.

I guess it's a good idea to notify the Coast Guard if you ditch your kite or windsurf gear. I know the guys up at Columbia Beach usually do that. 2 boats, a helicopter and all those man hours!!

It helps to label your gears in case you have to ditch them or you may end up in fake news
