AJ, have you been to Manzanita before? I've heard good things.

I have been during summer every year. Windsurf once and kited mostly. During summer waves aren't that high though, maybe spring does.

If there is enough wind go to Fort Stevens over Manzanita every time.

The waves at Manzo are erratic with lots of reflections going in all different directions.

The waves up Lot B and Shipwrecks are much more legit.

Bring a surf leash.

Nice. First time I’ve heard of it. Where is Fort Stevens?

Thanks for pointing that out Slappy.

I'm going up to the Okanagan this weekend but if I wasn't I'd chose Tofino or the Oregon Coast for sure! Hope you guys score. Let us know what you find.

It's the next state park north of Manzo. 45 minutes less driving.

The camping at the state park is a bit nicer, but farther from the beach.

The wind is cleaner at ft. Steven's too and a good setup for downwinders. But yes 5-10 knots less than manzo, and can be foggy when manzo is clear.

For my May surf/ kiting trips, days spent with humpback whales is 2 for 3 at Ft Steven's vs 0/6 at Manzo, if you like the portlier wildlife.

Only gripe I have with fort Stevenson is that it is often fully booked in the summer.

Wind tomorrow is dead on arrival.
No sign of resurrection on Sunday. Oh well I gotta have faith with this wind. It’s the only thing I feel so alive.
