Wow, that was fun! Can't beat Boundary Bay in the spring, some of the best waves I've seen in a long time. 5.3/80L was too much from the start, went down to 4.3 but that was even a handful at times, 3.7 would have been nice. Started out a little choppy but as the tide dropped things cleaned up and got epic! BIG steep ramps but at times too over powered to even think about hitting them. Went off one big one into a back loop but ended up doing more of a push loop and went face first into my gear. :o Sailed way outside out from Centennial and was treated to some very nice XLarge wave rides. Noticed the ICON 13 km on windguru was almost bang on for this afternoon. Wish this happened more that twice a year. :(

Nice score Michael !! Now I really wish I’d pulled the trigger rather than shying away from the SW forecast. Damn :(

Epic day at Boundary Bay. AJ (8mdude) and I were first arrivals who scored the deluxe parking spots. AJ first on the water at 11am. I was 4th on 9m + surfboard in SSE 20-25. Some good waves but plenty of chop. Had to switch to 7m at noon when all the crowds rolled in. The afternoon session was the best. Chest high waves with clean 40' spacing for some super fun hits in SSE 25-30. My favorite waves were way outside of Centennial. Got exhausted after 3 hrs TOW in SSE 30g35 then called it quits when the sky cleared.

Good turn out and vibes today and better than expected wind. Wish we had westerly tomorrow at SB, but it seems SW will be here at the Spit tomorrow.

Repeat. Better than average session at the boat launch with Tsawwassen. It was a lot like last Saturday (wind, sun at times, and swell), except later start (got to sleep in), thinner windsurfing crowd, and larger swell. Arrived as the wind started to gust to 30 mph. Rigged 4.5/92 to start. Square chop inside, but some big smoothies at times on the outside (in the deeper water past the edge of the second bank). Surprised Tsawwassen hung onto his 5.2 as long as he did. Winder than expected and glad I brought smaller gear (4.0/74 at the peak for me) – I just about left the small stuff at home as forecasts were making it look like it was going to be big gear weather. Quick chat and almost party wave with Chuck (on kite) and saw the guy riding what looked like an Ezzy Panther and Tabou S3 land more than a couple of dry endo forwards up near the mile marker. Day started feeling winter-like at six degrees but warmed up, especially when the sun came out. Second session in a row where dehydration was an issue (first world problem).

Michael and Dave, glad you had a good session, your commitment pays off! I had my car loaded and ready to drive to BB around 11am. One last check of iwindsurf, the wind had tanked, so I made the mistake of believing the questionable forecast. Dave, thanks for the pics, what is a dry endo forward?
