Today at White Rock was worth my $5.

Glad didn't have to drive to a country where mass-killing is the norm.

First session in a month and 2nd session of 2018. SW when I arrived at WR East Beach around 11:40am gusting to 25 and sunny. Rigged 4.7 and took out the 101L. Nicely powered the whole 2 hours and then it started getting holey so I called it a day. Waist high waves but not much power. Could jump both ways but when it went more West, starboard jumps were the call. Some backside riding and a couple off the lips rounded out the day. About 15 Kiters out but no other windsurfers. Was able to go gloveless about an hour in and that made things a lot more fun. 2hrs TOW in the sun!

Must have just missed you, DB. Checked Erwin Drive on my way out of West Van around 1pm, hoping I wouldn't have to drive too far for something. Finally decided to gamble on a late trek over to WR, as it didn't seem wind would be coming north any time soon. Driving in down into WR along 16th ave it looked pretty awesome north of the pier.

Arrived just as Alton was heading out. Rigged and suited up quick to make sure I'd get at least a few runs before things turned off, and I did. 5.2m / 80l got me a few jumps and one loop before it switched even more onshore and slowly turned off.

Should've committed to sailing and chasing wind early: broke my only wind chasing rule, which is, if you're gonna go on a sketchy forecast, go early to get the most of whatever is on offer. Oh well, still have WA in the back of my mind... I have a feeling some other pole dancers tested the waters at potentially more lucrative spots..

Stronger than expected. Overpowered on 9m+surfboard then overpowered on 7m. SW 25+. Sweet waist high waves with nice spacing (40' apart) down towards the peace arch. Tons of wave rides in the sun. What more can you ask for :D

3 hours on 10m in sun and waves. Can't really ask for more out of a mid February weekend.

Waves were good up by the pier too.

Is it just me or has 2018 been well above average thus far. Usually Jan-Feb are the weakest months.

We ended up in Whidbey today - sunny but super gusty, starting off around 25 with gusts up to 39. Normal launch is flooded. Tried to launch in water on my 5m and Martin holding kite on shore but too tricky with high tide (super sketch, my first time there - waves were breaking and strong current) so abandoned that idea lol. Sounds like WR was the spot to be today :D (There was one guy out on 7m and surf board)
