Sometimes Smith Island wind doesn't come in. Been there, done that

Well on the bright side I had a nice mexican dinner for $7.50.
I don't know where the wind sensor is at JWSP but doesn't seem to jive with real time conditions.

Lucas: Hope the clearing wind arrived and you got out. West Beach can be a tricky place to hit.

Clouds. Arrived early to cover the peak of the forecast wind. Quick look-sees at Flo, Wick, LB and then ended up at SC for wavesailing. Light early on, then it picked up when Jessie and BWD took to the water. Saw BWD crack a big cheshire cat smile on the first wave in! Nice! Crew of Redbaron, BWD, Udder and myself had the place to ourselves for most of the day. Saw BWD gracious roll off set wave for kiter; Jesse wavesail on the leeward side of the sail and Udder riding at the gateway to Rosie (again)! West wind was puffy and shifty but it settled a little when it went NW. Chilly on the hands at first, then it seemed to warm up (or my core body temp lowered). Some rides, some jumps, some waves, some smacks, some swims and lots of smiles! Fun day!

I kited Deception Pass... The current was a bit nasty, but enabled me to stay offshore and on the water. It was on and off, but the waves were nice. Two surfers appeared in the late evening just as the wind was dying. It picked up again at Dusk but I had already had my two token shower at the campground. Cool place to ride, but not for beginners, I stayed close to the shore as I didn't trust the wind.
