Literally. After hours of driving in the rain and run into an accident on I5, I was happy to have arrived at Manzanita where it was partly sunny and NW 20-22 knots wind

I enjoyed a 2 hour solo session with 6m kite. Waves were from my knee to my chest.
Had a self rescue though. My line snapped in the air and luckily for me I was near shore.

Now at Seaside, OR and catch some waves tomorrow.

Wednesday, hoping to score at the Gorge. Temira is expecting W30-35 from Mosier to Threemile

Looks like I might just stay at the Coast instead of the Gorge for more NW wind.

Went surfing this morning and I find waves in the morning are cleaner and more space in between waves.

BWD is forecasting around 15, but my experience here is it's usually 5 knots more than forecasted.

if you click the EXT button in G-spot , you can see Oregon better :) man, except for Friday , its showing W-NW winds predicted on the coast till Tuesday. wannasurf and seaweed will tell you if there is coming swell, hopefully nothing like a SE that make Manzanita a shitty choppy mess like last time I was there. cheers! up north at Fort Steven is very nice for down winders if wind is strong enouph ...lots of Gorge locals go there as a preference.

Arggh. Manzanita didn't deliver as forecasted. Oh well there's always surfing.

Friday is looking like a trip to the Gorge -- time to get myself another kite as my 8m is busted and been riding on 6m lately even when everybody is on 12 - 15 m -- I feel out of place.

Nicely powered on my 4.5m / 83 L board for 3 hours today at Event site. Water is very cold though -- feels like Squamish water.

I think I pissed off a kiter -- well he did piss me off -- cause and effect (karma).

Well I was downwind him and his kite was way too low I would think (I didn't see though cuz he was behind me). And next thing you know -- being the wind by the event site is swirly -- his kite dropped on me. Well of course to save myself from getting hurt I abandoned my sail and board while his lines are tangled with it. I swam away then he went ballistic and said "ra ra ra ra". And I said I won't help you if you don't calm down while your kite lines are tangled with my sail. So I just watched him and my sail and board go downwind me and he did shut up in the end probably realizing I can't hear him anyway. So when I realized he stopped "rarararing" I came to help.

I wasn't furious cuz I knew it wouldn't help me anyway. I was pissed but composed.

He did apologize when I saw him back in land and seeing the guy has missing front teeth I accepted his apology.

Yikes. Thanks for sharing as it's a good reminder to us all. Sounds like you handled it really well so don't let it sour your trip.

Finished off my week off with 2 hour session on 4.5 m/83 L board at Whidbey Island.

Good turnout of kiters and 3 windsurfers, including myself, Dave/C36 and Richard.

Now back to "real" world tomorrow. We'll see. Any wind in the upcoming week?

Home sweet home
