A nice 3.5 hrs in 8-12 knots on 12m + foilboard at 3rd ave today. Fun to ride right next to shore all up and down Centenial Beach with the high tide and on shore winds.

James from White Rock showed up near the end and was doing 2m jumps on his 12m + glide TT, so maybe it was up near 14 knots or something.

One of the locals there decided he should try kiteboarding so he bought a full setup on CL circa 2004. He was on the beach repeatedly crashing his floppy soft inflated bat wing looking Airush C-kite using a weirdo Naish bar that looked like pull/pull but was really pull/push. His spreader bar was barely hanging on because of the sewn ends on the belt and was a full 30 cm away from his body because the belt was at max.

I talked him in to packing up before he hurt himself and James convinced him to talk to Feral about lessons.

Nice, I am jealous. How were the weeds with the foilboard? This time last year they were so bad even a surfboard was miserable. I go out in the low tides last weekend on a twintip and actually didn't notice them, but figured they were out there somewhere.

I find that 1-2 good storms clean out the weeds pretty good and we've had 4-5 so far this year.

That said I did hit the occasional land mine but since I ride strapless it was no big deal.

I wanted to go over to 72nd but I found that the weeds started to get a lot worse down there so I turned back about 2/3 of the way.
