This issue is riding strapless in the crazy chop/ramps (outbound) at Spanish Banks, I often fall off my surfboard. I loose ground retrieving my surfboard and waterstarting again. That's why I have trouble going upwind strapless.

With straps I don't fall off my surfboard in the crazy chop at Spanish Banks. In fact, I was jumping the crazy chop/ramps at Spanish Banks today - lots of fun!
