Squamish today

Kitesurfing shop talk

No sign of poisoning here. But yesterday I did notice some green patches on the water yesterday -- and I was wondering they were.

My dogs are also fine even after drinking the water yesterday. And I did drink some too by accident. And I'm feeling fine this morning. I don't know how I will feel in the future, but I feel good now -- that's what matters :-)

Is it worth the risk? Probably not. I'd wait until this coming weekend.

If you can manage to stay away today (probably best wind of the season so far) then thankfully the forecast is crap for the next week. So just be strong today and you'll be in the clear by the time the sun shines again.

Such a shame to see the best wind of the year go to (toxic) waste...

Has anyone seen any updates beyond this one (April 20)?
  • "The dock fire was successfully extinguished on Sunday afternoon."
  • "The Unified Environmental Response team continues to work with Vancouver Coastal Health, Western Canada Marine Response Corporation, and other agencies to address the full scope and needs of the response to the dock fire."

Would love to hear more about the water testing results. I feel that this is the larger concern as the fire is done and all smoke is long gone....toxic soup more the worry
