Windsurfing the Fraser River. Possible?

I've spent hundreds of hours on the Fraser fishing for sturgeon over the past few years. I've never seen it blowing hard enough to consider kiting in the maple ridge area. I have seen it pretty windy up the Pitt River in early spring, but for only one or 2 hour window. Mornings usually start off calm. I've also seen it fairly windy up near Hatzic in Mission on the Fraser. The wind is bitterly cold, and not sure of the strength. During the warmer months, the river will be full of recreational fisherman, and tugs.
Bonus of maple ridge or below is it's tidal. If you're lucky enough to score a windy day, and the tide is slack you may have prime conditions. Also the river does switch direction during a flood tide except during freshet when it is puking out all kinds of debris.
