Windsurfing shop talk

Big rush this morning when I saw the unexpected wind. Arrived around when daylight showed up and on the water a few minutes after a winger that I thought might be Michael (but was not). Windsurfing would have been the past choice but wanted to try my new kite in the Boundary Bay waves. Plus I was skeptical it would last since it was so much better than my read on the forecasts. So solid and full session on 7M kite and surfboard working the waves ruthlessly downwind. Saw John windsurfing a bit later and a couple other kites also later (poor turn out). I think the wind drop on windsurf is more than actuals due to wind direction (good to look at BB airport sensor). I consider this my first proper winter session of the season :D

Still okay wind at BB, it’s just very south so wind line is further out, sailed 10.30 till a little after noon on 5.0 and 99 ltr, a few good ramps and smooth swells but got more and more disorganized

Got home at 12:30 and managed to get on the water just after 1. Winged from 1 to 2. Wind was really south but there was enough wind on the outside for the 5m and 799. Really nice riding the left over swells in the sun. Wind and swell both started to die after an hour. Looking forward to tomorrow.
