For you newbies:

For windsurfing, Centennial Beach is a sandy launch. If you can uphaul, you have enough skill to launch there. On low tide days, it's a beginner-friendly place to learn waterstarts, with waist deep water extending far from shore. If you mess up, the wind blows you back to shore. On high tide days, it's best if you already can waterstart.

Kiting isn't allowed at Centennial Beach. Try 3rd Ave, which is a few hundred metres down the road.

Pilots describe the sky over Boundary Bay as a "hole." When it's raining in the city, often there's no rain, or a bit drizzly, in Boundary Bay. Occasionally sunny. Boundary Bay tends to be a winter thing. Look for SE forecasts.

Further out, there is nice smooth swell. Usually waist to head high. It's backside riding, similar to The Gorge.

You need a thick wetsuit. The same one you wear at Squamish. Sometimes people wear drysuits. A weed fin is practically mandatory. Here's an example.

Other sites include 3rd Ave near Centennial Beach, White Rock, Crescent Beach, Point Roberts, Ferry Terminal.
