Fun day of survival sailing. Came and went pretty much exactly as forecasted. Disorganized waves but crazy wind gusts and massive ramps for huge airs - it's how Michael got into orbit  . A hard day to get settled into any real sailing rhythm though. On the 3.1 for most of the day switching between 79L and 67L boards. Glad everyone had fun and made it safely off the water. More please.

Blast. Wind was really unsettled and volatile early on. I stood around for quite a while and watched the wind gust and then lull and repeat. Finally grew tired of being patient and decided to rig 4.5/92 and it started to blast! Taka 3.8/74 were too big (even full flat), but managed to limp around in ‘survival’ mode (stayed on the first bank as I didn’t want to be too far out if the wind bomb hit) until it backed a bit and that was super fun! But the back side of the hump was steep and pretty short lived. Day five of six packed a punch!

That was nuts, started with 4.0 and 89l way overpowered, completely flattened it out and still too much as wind kept rising, then rigged 3.4 and felt quite overpowered on that too
When the wind was finally coming down quickly at the end there was about 15 min where the setup felt dialed in
Glad everyone and their gear made in back in one piece.

Put a couple gopro clips together too:

very few kiters at 3rd on the water today , some bragger said he clock 19.2m jump ,difficult day for majority kiters to try to get out as winds where like 30 knots diff at times or something. by the time it back off 1230 manageable for most, i took my 5.5 m , did a small tack came back right away because not enouph winds anymore as it clocked ssw and diminished rapidly and killed the day there. i heard people went to ferry n around 2 or 3 was like 20knot there, nice. i suspect crescent was good round 2 to 4 . was nice to socialize at the beach . lots of testos and only one girl ha ha.

Great day on the water after a long absence. Looked windy so rigged up 3.7/94L. Had a little trouble at first getting off shore due to lack of wind. After 30 mins it was a completely different story... hang on for dear life, hit mach 3, launch in the air, hope to land gracefully... it was awesome. Great to see everyone out there.
Thanks Dave for the pics, really captures the mood.
