For my recently acquired (spring) windfoil set up I'm using the surfbent.
https://www.silentsports.com/windsurfin ... v2/wasb22/I actually got version 1 for cheaper knowing version 2 was coming soon. Version 2 allows for 2 pin mast base which I would have preferred but I doubt any "day to day" function difference.
It's really a variation of the old deviator. I think it seems better as it's lower and supposed to absorb some of the hit which I hope reduces the lever effect. It is a bit awkward re-positioning the sail when in the water but not a big deal to me. Using this with a mechanical universal I don't notice it at all when sailing. No board damage. I'd have to say that it wasn't my first few session that had the biggest risk of board damage. It was a few sessions after that when I started to allow more speed. I can't know for sure but there's a good chance there would have been some board damage without the surfbent.
