I think I’d really enjoy getting out with that type of gear. I’ll probably drive Jericho later today in case I can catch some gusts with my freeride board.

Adam - link your video to the Aussie site and ask for some tips on keeping the nose down at the end of your gybe. I haven't been on the water yet, my armchair advice is, when you flip the sail keep the mast vertical.

Looks like a great day on the water. I'll get out there soon.

Haha yeah a couple of those ones felt like the board was going straight up at the end. I am working on going right into the opposite footstrap, and when I actually find it in light winds it causes me to put too much weight on the back and stall the foil. I can sometimes offset it by getting my weight further forwards, something I hope to be working on more soon.

I wonder if your new front foot should be in the center as opposed to by the side for a slow speed gybe? Sail switch stance for a few seconds before sail flip.

Place you back hand as far from the harness lines as possible when gybing. Keep the sail away from you.

Let the apparent wind help flip your sail.

Look where you want to exit the turn, don't look at the mast or boom, keep your eyes on the exit.

"Sunday Morning Gliding...." https://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Win ... ing?page=6

That wing has lots of power for his weight; no whitecaps, lake windfoil Infinity 99, 5.8m.
His setup sail mast at back of track, weight more on the backfoot. It might be harder for a smaller guy.

Technique:
Sail vertical when flipping the sail.
Back Hand 30cm from the harness lines.
Sailing downwind before flip.

Foot change not on centerline! Different than what Wyatt advised - I guess whatever it takes to keep the board level.

+1 on weight forward. Lately I've been stepping back foot all the way across the board pointing mostly forwards for jybes and far enough up the board so I can let all the power out of the sail without the nose coming up. There's a lot of downforce on the mast while sailing and trying to continue putting that force in while jybing I find awkward. There's so much glide on the foil (especially if you are riding high when starting the jybe), I just concentrate on using my body/hips for balance around the turn, flip the sail early, and oftentimes sail switch footed for a bit before pulling my foot out of the strap.
