New Windsurf Shop opening

Windsurfing shop talk

Hey I heard there is a new windsurfing shop opening in Vancouver once the COVID-19 is done. From what I understand it’s very Eurocentric. European brands focusing on slalom, foiling light wind performance. I’m pretty stoked. Has anyone else heard this? Could be good timing for them if Squamish is done. Maybe see light wind stuff at Porteau and Jericho?

That’s great news! I personally don’t know anything about it but keen to learn more.
Cheers

I wonder which brands? I've been super impressed with my Simmer gear. Much better build than Cobra built stuff.

I hope it isn't a traditional shop with expensive overhead. Any shop up here will have to compete with stores in OR. Brands that might be Euro centric and not really available in North America are: Loftsails, Unifiber & RRD. Simmer is drop ship from Sweden (free worldwide shipping/ included in price) and most don't carry inventory. Difficult business to be in. Good luck.

RRD would do really well if they open in Kits. Being an Italian designer brand, might give them an edge.

I heard this company is happy to take a loss on their windsurfing business as they have other companies that are very successful. I wonder if it has any relationship to Starboard/Severne given they now have a warehouse in Vancouver.

I heard that they are giving away free gear for every member on this forum. smh

You are talking about Trident Sports and they are a distributor for North America for certain brands. Nobody is happy to take a loss. Well this is Canada, so you might be right in some ways.
