Windsurfing Kugenuma Kaigan Japan

Back in Japan since Sept 3rd and have surfed a fair bit but today was the first day of weekend wind. 30 gusting to 40 knots onshore with overhead (6-8') high waves after the latest Typhoon went through (last night). 2 hours TOW, both starboard and port jumps to be had. Overpowered on my old 4.2 NR and my 2001, 78L JP Wave. Very few surfers out so I had the beach to myself. Had a few "run away" moments when large overhead sections closed out but only got rolled once. 30 degrees air temp and 24 degrees water temp. Not much wind in the forecast next weekend but some waves for next Sat.
