Well that didn't work out well! Launched near the parking lot at Lighthouse Park, wind was strong when I launched but as soon as I got out a little it started to back off. The current was so strong after one reach I was almost half way to Gulf Rd. Tried to sail way up wind and regain some ground but that didn't work. I was now in the wind shadow of the point and the wind was blowing me off shore. When I got to the outside I was really far out and the wind was almost gone. Thankfully there were a few gusts here and there and I was able to get back to Gulf Rd but it took me almost an hour. Long walk up the beach back to my van. One of the locals came out to offer me a ride back up to LHP and said they were watching me and were surprised how far out I went on my last reach. Glad I made it back but not sure I'll be trying any light wind foiling back out there again!

Thanks Dallas, Ya NW would be much better! I'm looking forward to riding the NW swell off of Lighthouse Park with the foil, I just need to learn how to foil first! : )
