Very low tide during what looks like prime-time on Friday.

Tides that low should make the SW switch pretty safe.

Will it be worth going south of the border to locust or sandy point for friday morning?
Just wondering, I've never been. It sounds like they might have a flat water spot..

Hoping to get out before work at B.B.

Locust will undoubtably be windier and warmer water. It is not a flat water spot per se, but the shore depth is so gradual that you can ride in ankle biter reform if you don’t mind boosting in 4 inches of water. Fantastic spot but in the opposite direction of my work.

Sandy point is good too, but locust is faster to get to and works as good or better most days. Sometimes the wind stays out on locust bay outside, this is when I would go to Sandy. Have not figured out why/when that happens.

FYI locust wind sensor is down but the one out in the bay is working. The webcam is good too, if you can see whitecaps it is blowing near 20 kts. Google locust wind for the site. TJs Link, despite him passing away, is still best forecast and comes out at 8PM for the next day. It may seem unbelievable, but it is often conservative. Expect 5-25knots more windspeed than WR or BB, may be gusty inside and much stronger far out. Waves can be okay, but not like B.B.

So up to you if it is worth the drive and cheap gas.
