Weather Talk For BC no matter what you ride

Duotone Wing

Windsurfing shop talk

Lots of talk about the Duotone Wing that they've been testing in Tenerife lately.

I'm sure it'll be an easy buy for all the SUP foilers out there, but I'm thinking that it wont entice many windsurfers away from their poles and it doesn't seem too popular with kiters.

They claim the 5m wing can get 80 kg rider going in 8 knots.

To me I'd rather just have small kite on short lines.

Looks like F-one has a wing coming too.

And yes, this stuff is a hella old concept with stuff like the wind weapon and kitewing out ages ago. This new push of old tech looks to ride the wave of people who've already bought a SUP foil and takes advantage of foils not needing much to go upwind and also thus not requiring a harness.

There are 3 or 4 different companies testing & photoshooting Wings here in Maui.
Incredible how they go in a good sailors hands.
They all seem to use them with a special Foil Board.
Not my thing but fun to watch
