Smoooooooth. Scored a civilized 7m+surfboard session from 12:30 to 3:30pm in SSE 25-30. Amazing chest high waves with smooth 40' spacing best between 3rd Ave and Centennial. Tons of awesome wave rides until 3pm when wave became disorganized and wind gusty.

Small turn out (10 kiters) including Lucas, 8mdude, Cash, Matt, Jeff ...

I think Ryan and Dave got the best stuff early. After I hit the water with my 4.7 the wind died, re-rigged 5.2 and got the 102L, by the time I got back on the water things had picked up and the 5.2/102 was solid. Unfortunately the little dip in the wind was enough to flatten out the waves. There were some OK ones outside but not great. Wind picked up later and I was over powered on the 5.2 but too tired to re-rig but took the 80L out for a while. Was a good warm up for tomorrows madness. :D

Fun after work session.

Went out on 10m, about 30 mins in had my chicken loop come off hook and bar ripped out of my hands when landing a jump. Back lines somehow got wrapped around and jammed into centre bar hole as it flagged out. Giant mess that I could not sort in the water with the kite flopping around.

Made my way 800m in to shore and headed out on my 7m, waves got much better for round 2. Wind had backed off, would have been perfect w/surfboard but should have stayed on 10 for TT for boosting.

Every kiter came by to check on me while I was trying to sort out my lines in the water. Special thanks to Cash for bringing my board to shore and providing close air support.

3pm yesterday, not good waves.

Waves are not wrapping like they used to, Sandy shores is weak this year.

For example, Saturna is strong, sandy is not, PR camera = no waves.

Alton, yes ... good waves @ 12:45-2:30pm like you said. Waves were like you described, choppy and random after 3:30pm.

At PR it was good 12:45-2pm then it turned soft, a few waves had some ride after, they had height (wedge) but lacked opening and ride.

It's just disappointing, you go from a beautiful left wave, 3 years ago, 150 meter ride ... to a wave that lacks form.

Wind is not moving as a front, but like a guy with shorter right leg (sandy) and his longer left leg (saturna)... and it's messing up waves,

For 2018: Ambleside had no session in 2018, WB had not a single good session in 2018 (1.2mHB or more), PR was absent for 6 months and now with decent SE wind is no good.

We may get a random session here and there. That's just for surf not wind.
