Windsurfing shop talk

Awesome, warm wind and water, SWS graph showed 22-39 knots at 3:20, gusty but steadier at Nexen. Smooth knee to waist high waves near to shore, good ramps further out.
Fun day enjoyed by several other windsurfers and kite boarders!

A guy from the district explained it as a "rebranding" due to the negative chemical plant connotation of Nexen.

Yesterday was a textbook day that followed the formula for when it nukes at Squamish and Nexen: the beginning of a cooling trend after a heatwave, and still very hot in the interior. Often very gusty at the Spit due to a westerly can’t, but better wind and waves at Nexen.
I had a blast on my flattened 5.0 with a small board. Should have rigged down to 4.5 or 4.2 but didn’t want to come in!
