Squamish wind meter

Windsurfing shop talk

Sailed yesterday. Meter was reading 15- 20 online.
Rigged 6.0 with 63cm Falcon.
Launched into river, got crushed on beach start due to dissapearance of wind fart.
Super dissapointed as got skunked, wind was more like 10- 14. Too shallow for foil and/ or formula. Thinking about a kite as guys using 14m and having fun...
Meter was in the low yellow at spit.
Anyone experience an over- read on this years meter?
Thx for the wise words in advance.

Yellow usually means marginal 5.0 for me. 6.0 would be ripping.

Maybe it was a doming effect when the wind is detached from the water surface due to extremely cold water. Prevalent on the Great Lakes in the spring and early summer.
