Logged my first windfoil session on 6.8 today at Locarno. I don't know for sure the wind speed but say 1st part of session 8-10. Not enough realisicially (the odd short fly - not worth it). Second part say 10-12 (gust maybe to 13). Enough with pumping. I will not lie, it was a workout. There was one fellow making a go of it (mostly) in part one. I'm not sure who it was but he must have had one of those battery powered foils with propeller. More time needed to work out the balance points and tuning of the 6.8. Definitely a ton of pumping power.

In the distance I would see foilers flying all the time. One of them is on a 8.2 Flyer (2 camber), Moses 1100 (2100cm2), Roberts foil board.

So my infinity 84 would be similar but the 8.2 is a big jump and I guess that's what it takes to get 8-10. Makes sense. Part of my workout yesterday was finding out what wind in the sail enabled me to go and what didn't.

Hey Mike, I found this summer that I would go between 2 sails, my 7.5 Ezzy and 4.3 Hotsails. I tried my 6.5 in lighter winds but found I was pumping like mad and still struggled to get flying. My Ezzy has battens that are almost like cams and maintains shape which really pumps well. The problem is it's so heavy it's really not fun to sail. Once the wind picked up I found I could go all the down to the 4.3.

No more pumping, maybe all you need to get flying without a big sail or big foil. Time will tell its doable for a foil.

I really like the 130 board. Nice to have more EVA decking and foot straps. The board looks really nice too.
