It's cool to see people "hacking" foils.

Personally I'd like the NP mast (because it's stiff) with the SS Infinity wings but a lighter fuselage like the Naish.

It will be interesting to see when Aluminum/Carbon will be replaced with Super Magnesium.

I wonder what processes it requires to use? Forging aluminum requires a massive initial outlay in equipment that is also costly to retool for new product.
Even at 33% lighter than aluminum a solid wing would be very heavy. Fuselages and masts however might be the ticket if it doesn't corrode badly.

Magnesium gives up its electrons faster than a new foiler pawning his 17m.

We use it in aviation a fair amount, more so on the older stuff. Salvaged a helicopter that had ditched and rolled in the ocean. Could stick your whole fist into the transmission through the side case.

I got some pitting on my NP alu fuse when I left the carbon wings attached overnight, mag would been markably worse.

But some alloys today are truly amazing. So who knows, you first. I thought north's Carbon reinforced polymer (plastic) foil construction was a good mfg direction for our application, but then it sounded like there were multiple issues.

I’m looking at Slingshot foils to go with their Wizard 125. For about the same price I can get either new Hoverglide V3 with their “new” 93cm mast and Infinity 74 along with a carry bag, or I can get V1 with 93cm mast (older mast version, I don’t know what’s changed) and the Infinity 74 plus the smaller H2 wing. I think this V1 also has an older stabilizer.

Hey, foiled on the Slingshot Dialer 130 with the aluminum Hover Glide 61. It had the Slingshot Infinity 76, and the Slingshot Rear Wing 42.

Did it for the afternoon. It was fun. Got on the foil immediately. At the end of the afternoon, was getting 15 second rides.

Used a Goya Fringe (3-batten) 5.0 in 10 knots of wind. At 15 knots, downrigged to a Goya Fringe (3-batten) 4.7.

I have this board and foil but with the 84cm Infinity wing and the 48cm rear stab. You could get this deal and a 76 or 84 wing for the same or less than a Moses

I ride the 125L Wizard with the Infinity 84 and old 42cm rear wing. It's a great combo, especially with light Vancouver winds, it also does just fine overpowered and is great for swell riding. I am not winning drag races, but i don't care. I have also ridden the fancy Moses setup that is pretty much the same as the 76 and the shape felt relatively fast and locked in. I couldn't ever justify carbon prices though as I only notice the weight difference when carrying the board around. I have ridden the old H2 fwind1 wing a lot too and it flies like an unrefined version of the Infinities without the glide to get you through lulls. I sold mine as I couldn't think of any case where in would want to use the H2 wing over my 84. On its own the H2 is a good wing, it just requires a bit more concentration to sail well. Good luck! Edit: get the first package, then sell the unused H2 wing to a kiter who wants a "big" wing.
