Worth heading down for this forecast if the actuals are solid and the winds are stuck out of the East or light locally. Should be nice winds somewhere in the 3.7-4.7 range at Ebey. Great new spot for you guys to try as well for next winter season :D Hit the road early if you go, wind strength is forecasted to back off later in the day.

Ebey is looking very good now from first light through most of the day. The last two forecast runs are getting progressively stronger. I think Centennial will be late to switch out of the East and slow to build while it's cranking at Ebey.

Watch Smith Island and Oak Harbour actuals and the Double Bluff webcam early tomorrow and go for it if nothing is happening locally. There's strong NE outflow forecast all day through Howe Sound and the Eastern Fraser Valley.........not great for SE winds at Centennial.

Chris, where exactly do you launch? In the state park at Ft. Ebey, or isn't there a bay around there, "Useless Bay" or something along those lines?
Thanks.

Hi George,

Turn right off Hwy 20 onto Ebey Road. Follow it down to the water. There's a parking area at the bottom of the hill. Google Maps is your best bet to have a look. Useless Bay is another 30 minutes south. It's the one that had the webcam overlooking it.

Cheers,

Chris

Ebey is going to go today :D

Oak Harbour, Coupeville, Ault Field and Smith Island already blowing 15-25 at 5am. Whidbey TAF is solid from sunrise to 2pm. Bellingham and Vancouver TAF are very weak. Not a day to arrive down there at 11am either. Hit the road early and get on the water early while it sits easterly locally for most of the day. Should be somewhere in the 4.2-5.2 range. Checkout the Double Bluff webcam first light.
