Weather Talk For BC no matter what you ride

Wednesday Westerly - JWSP

Windsurfing shop talk

Wednesday 12 noon - Dark looks really solid for JWSP. 4.0-5.0 wind forecast all afternoon. If Juan de Fuca and all the actuals switch and fill in early it'd be worth the drive if nothing has swung around to the W-WNW locally.

Sheringham and Race just turned West and are building quickly. Whidbey TAF shows wind arriving just after noon and building to 30-40 knots by dark. If you're not already heading down I would head to Point Roberts for the afternoon. Looks like it'll have too much North for Acadia to get the main push.

JWSP going off right now. Wind was right on time as forecast. Two texts just came in from Mike and Cameron. One is lit on a 4.2 and the other on a 3.7. Shoulder high waves already on the inside. Gotta grab some sleep.......up in four hours for work.

Hey Michael,

Decided to stay up and work through the night and sleep tomorrow. Sailed Op'd 3.2 today on my Goya 84L Quad in the Caspian for six hours............still amped :D You probably don't want to hear this but Mike and Cameron just rigged down to 3.5  JWSP is going off huge right now. Remember...........Everything Is Awesome!!! Our son is still singing that after the movie a month ago.

Cheers,

Chris

You're right I didn't want to hear that. I knew it was going to go off today, especially when I found out I couldn't go. I might be able to sneak out later to Point Roberts or White Rock for a sun downer session. Hope the wind holds. Glad to hear you got out today.

Went to Point Roberts around 5, Brad was just packing up and as we were talking the wind died. There were rain clouds coming in and I think that shut things down. A squall blew through just after I got home and that was it. Hope another Whidbey opportunity arises before the season is over.

Hey Guys,

Just got a text from Mike down at JWSP. They just came off the water ten minutes ago and it's still 35 Gusting 45 knots out of the West. They all sailed 3.5-4.2 from 1230pm until Dark. Swell was 6-8 feet on the outside with 5-7 foot wave faces on the inside. Whidbey has had sub 5.5 wind the last 4 out of 6 days with two days sub 4.0.
TAF, Marine and Local Forecasts were all accurate three days ago. The sideways growing arbutus tree mystery is slowly unraveling :D

Cheers,

Chris
