On Sunday Jen was working so I went for a storm session (NW winter wind) at Witsands, waves were small but very clean. Wind was 4.7 cross off shore. A nice change from the terrifying conditions I experienced there a week previously where I ended up being pounded on the rocks.

The pictures are of one the Cape Town sailors, Thomas, who is always out sailing.

Nice Shark in the water tracking the poor windsurfer. Is it a dolphin?

Jen twisted my arm to come back for a month so she could study in peace for her final exams in March.
On Friday we sailed at Witsands, Jen on 3.5 Ryan on 4.0 both very overpowered. Sailing was purely survival style. We came in for a break and watched a guy go out. Perfect backloop, perfect pushloop on the next wave, we thought cool, but there was more, into forward landed ankle dry. It turned out to be Ricardo Campello, Amado Vrieswijk was also sailing.

In the picture it does not look that windy, I underestimated it by at least a meter.

Cape Town spots..

We also sailed a few new to us spots, Misty Cliffs, this is adjacent to Witsands and was much less crowded with cleaner waves.
Another good spots was Silverstroom, on the day we sailed was perfect for beginner wave sailors, nice and relaxing, and no crowds. After sailing Big Bay with 60 others we decided to find some more secluded spots.
