Better use some type of a teather on the foil if you want to be able to find it if the original box does blow out. My guess is buying a second foil + board repair + abortive cost of plate adapter won't be very cost effective in the end.
Why not just look around for a used board with deep Tuttle box (sadly there are likely more than a few of them lying around gathering dust)?
