Better use some type of a teather on the foil if you want to be able to find it if the original box does blow out. My guess is buying a second foil + board repair + abortive cost of plate adapter won't be very cost effective in the end.

Why not just look around for a used board with deep Tuttle box (sadly there are likely more than a few of them lying around gathering dust)?

Word on the street is suitable boards with deep tuttle boxes are disappearing quickly from the market.

Didn't Roberts and Prior use Deep Tuttle boxes on all their performance slalom boards for 10+ years? There should be a ton of them still sitting around in garages, especially in North Van as everyone who windsurfed back in the mid to late 90s seemed to have one!

The problem will be that the people who still have them will still think that the boards are worth $2000 because they are in "excellent shape".......

very true, a box change cost 325 USD in hood river, an older board would be around the same price. If I sell my futura 111 I almost break even, I think I am gonna get the isonic 121 and be done with it.

Most of those old Roberts slalom boards are too narrow to really foil well. Unless you are using one of the lower aspect foils that are more upright in riding position. Even then +75cm width is best.

Foiling demo centre. 8 to 12 knots every day. Perfect for foiling.
