Windsurfing shop talk

was over watching my two nephews season final cycle cross race in naniamo this morning, figured i'd venture up to comox for a quick look see at airforce beach afterwards.
arrived around 2pm blowing 30+ decent swell on the outside, north end of point. Super nice sandy beach with peelie wave near the point, no other sailors, or kiters, out... Sailed my 4.3m 92ltr ultra kode for a short session. overall with the extra drive time i give it a 7/10.
cheers!

Nice score! Fun spot for sure. Sailed there once a few years ago and have been meaning to return back ever since. Watch out for the car size boulders just under the surface at low tide though. :o

Some pictures here.

AL: Thanks for sharing. Your video does a nice job of capturing the feel of the place :D :D - some nice little ramps just off from where you launched (some rocks there in the wave faces on low tide) and some one hit playful faces on the inside (similar conditions to the day I sailed there). I am pretty sure you can catch a glimpse of the row of rocks marching down the beach toward the water when you pan south at the at the end of the video (that's where the rather large "VW bug" shaped rocks are frighteningly close to the surface on low tide). Looking forward to sailing there again - even better with some company. :D ;)

Good to know, I tend to treat AFB as 'Plan B' (a back-up plan) if the wind is too light to sail at CB, but find it hard to leave CB, even if it is light.
