We launched at Tribune Bay, Wind ESE 25 to 30 Knots, dead onshore. Headed out on Port Tack. Southerly would probably be Starboard tack. Good jumpable waves. Pictures thanks to Scott Carlisle.

Nice Ryan!
Hornby is an awesome place! always wondered how the sailing would be in tribune. i'd be interested in checking out sandy island at the north end of denman island. looks like a good wave spot there...cheers

Nice score! I've always wanted to kite Big Trib on a 30 knot SE.

Were the waves breaking so close to the shore the kite would have been over logs? I would imagine it might not work for kiting on higher tides.

I doubt your kite would have been over land while sailing, the bigger waves were not that close, at least 30m out. Wind was dead onshore, so might be a little harder to launch/land a kite, I wouldn't know though.

Wow, awesome shots Ryan. Capture the waves better than my iPhone camera.

Slappy, Easy launch/land off grass at high tide. It was a 4m high when I was out. today might have been tough, lots of beach logs to start rolling at a winter high + surge tide.

Beach had shallow foam push/pull zone, then breaking reform, then open faces. Agree with Ryan, I was riding waves 100ft or more out, very coast like.

At little tribune the south west end has sandstone shelves extending out that had nice peeling waves, my kite was over that at times. Same on the point separating the two bays. So only risky if playing on the point breaks... ie totally worth it.
