Four Days Of Wind In The Forecast

Windsurfing shop talk

by Chris Klohn » Fri Mar 14, 2014 4:03 am

The next four days down south look good. I'd be staying in LaConner or Oak Harbor if I wasn't at work right now. Having a quick look at all the information I would guess:

Friday - JWSP 4.0-5.0 Westerly
Saturday - Ebey 4.0-5.5 Southeasterly
Sunday - JWSP 5.0-6.0 Westerly
Monday - JWSP 3.7-5.0 Westerly

We'll see what happens........

I've been watching this for a few days. I'm heading down now and hope it pays off. Thanks for the heads up Chris.

Gotta pick up new mini SIM cards for my family anyway - iPhone 4 and Nexus 5.

No problems Michael,

Just a hunch on the wind. The forecast isn't as solid as the three days I had down there but it's pretty good and better than locally. Are you going to try and stay for the SE tomorrow too? Oak harbour has a few nice, reasonable hotels that include breakfast and are only ten minutes from Ebey or JWSP. Off to bed now in Azerbaijan, let's hope your luck finally changes down there!p :D

Cheers,

Chris

Scored another half hour of fun in the sun on 5.2/93L with Michael.

Calling it a day. Heading to Bellingham for some T-Mobile mini-SIMs.

Hi Alton,

I'm so stoked you guys finally got a session at JWSP even if it was brief :D Glad you got your wind juju back and the curse has disappeared!

Tomorrow afternoon, 1200-Dark, is looking really good now for a SE session at Ebey and Monday looks epic for JWSP.

Cheers,

Chris

Finally after 4 skunks in a row Alton and I scored a session at JWSP! When I first arrived it was still light but there were some very nice waves so I SUPed for about an hour. Only managed to get about 3 or 4 nice rides in as the waves were really close together and I had a hard time standing on the board. The wind finally came in and I was way over powered on the 5.2 I went in to re-rig but the wind came down a bit. Then after about 30 minutes it dropped off. We waited for it to come back in and it did but only for about another 30 minutes. Some really nice wave rides inside and big swell outside. Not the revenge session I was after but at least we lifted the Whidbey curse.
