Blakie Spit

Windsurfing shop talk

Hi Guys,

Does anyone windsurf at Blakie Spit? I was told by one of the local kiters at White Rock beach, that the wind there is usually about 3knts stronger. Is the wind sensor at Surrey Sailing Club accurate? It never seems to show more than 9 knots...

strong current, so make sure you have enough to go upwind. Tide makes that little island, usually 11 knots, weeds all over @ summer time.

Boat traffic as well ... impossible to plane unless formula.

I see. I guess I'll try my luck at White Rock beach instead. Hoping for some wind on Saturday morning.
Thanks,
