Heading home on the ferry now, to rest. This endless high pressure system is awesome for Nitinat. We just finished 9 days straight of solid sailing, on 5.0 or smaller every day. Sunny and warm every afternoon, and plenty of room on the water and in the campsite. I think people only book holidays for Nitinat later in July, but this years weather combined with the long days of early summer is hard to beat.
Randy and Trisha (and family) were just finishing a great week when we arrived, and Jay Brown was enjoying sailing his 4.6 with us yesterday.
Today is cloudy right across the Island but the extended forecast still looks good. No campfires allowed though!!

Ps - Jerry was there the whole time too, and is staying another week or more. He will be releasing a new GoPro video this fall of us all sailing and kiting at Nitinat, once he has a few hundred spare hours to edit it!

Just got back from our 3rd Nitinat trip this summer. Sailed 6/6 days, mostly 5.0 and 5.5. As expected in late August, the wind was a bit lighter than the last trip, but it still delivered enjoyable sessions every day. Nice and warm too, peaking at 24c yesterday.
We've been there 23 days this summer and not had any rain or smoke. Best summer for Nitinat that I can remember!
Great to see so many windsurfers there, including quite a few beginners.
The word is out though - we saw plates from as far as Florida and the place was packed on the weekend. If you want to go for Labour Day weekend, go early or plan to join someone who does.
