Windsurfing shop talk

Hi guys, this will be my first session in BC after moving here 3 months ago. My bet was boundary bay. Would there be a better spot for waves? Is there anything I should know like hidden rocks or sandbars?

3rd Avenue is the best spot for waves today. Do you windsurf or kite? Only thing to watch out for is that there's a good chance the wind will quickly ramp up to SSE 35-40 at noon so be prepared. Morning tide is shallow so maybe sandbars?

On a more important note these are the conditions that when things go wrong they happen fast. Lets all keep an eye on one another out there.

Fly high and stay safe.

I'm having second thoughts about heading out today. Wind could ramp up really fast at noon so be safe.

I hear what you're saying, BUT, will see you there ;) I haven't decided but may Windsurf today (was thinking to ease in mid April but...).

If today is a short session, tomorrow looks like opportunity for more standard conditions (GFS).

The best set up today will be later if the afternoon when the tide is high and starts to drop. If you head out around 2 the tide will be high enough to sail from Centennial Beach Park where most of the windsurfers will be. I will most likely be there around 2 or 3.

early warning

Keep an eye on Sandy Point (35 km away from BB), if you see that sensor hit 40 knots then you'll have 45 minutes to get into a bunker somewhere... this guy seems ready
